Nursery crafts!

Yesterday was a very productive shopping day for me... I managed to find all kinds of goodies to complete Lauren's room. I found cute pink material for curtain panels. I bought the curtain rods, for the panels. Still waiting on Levi to weld the pony-shoes for her valances. I also bought mini-blinds for both of the kids rooms, but am sad to report they were just a smidge too small. So I'll have to return those and buy some more. I bought the big star you see to the left at Atwoods, only 11.00! I also found the cute striped baskets you see at Dollar General for 1.75 and 1.50... The fit the diapers and wipes perfect!

I also found other goodies, such as a 20X shirt for Levi for 13.33, and me a computer chair, which I must say is quite more comfortable than the kitchen chair I was sitting in...

So today I was supposed to take pictures, but the little boy fell and bumped his head, so his mom didn't think that would make for great 1 year pictures. Can't say that I blame her! In the mean time, I got out some of my unused art stuff, and put it to work. Levi's grandmother, DeLeta, gave me the three stars below a long time ago. I just never found the right use. Today, they got a makeover, and I have to say, the pictures don't do them justice.

Just a little more detail to the stars... All paper was cut and hand-inked. Then DeLeta gave me the austrian crystals to use. In the light, these really sparkle, they are so pretty in real life.

I also found this cute chalkboard yesterday at Walmart in the clearance and had an idea. (I bought two, but one of them, once painted, the woodgrain messed up the inking) I'm not completely sure I am happy with the end results, but it's cute anways.

I hope to accomplish more tomorrow... Maybe get Levi to do some welding for me, hmmmm...
I got a confirmation email that our rug has shipped, and it's estimated delivery is Wednesday. I also have a rocking horse from Walmart online, that should be on it's way as well... (Thanks to PaPa and Judy, they gave us a Walmart card.) I have my work shower on Thursday, and I am looking forward to it. My friends at work are really going all out for me. I can't say how much it makes me feel loved!

Oil Field Museum

The boys had a lot of fun on our East Texas Oil Field Museum trip... Chris and Levi enjoyed all the equipment. I headr lots of "Take pictures of this" and "Take pictures of that"... what we will do with them, who knows...
but here are some of mine that I like:

Levi and Hunter were fascinated with this derrick that stands out front.

I spent last night working in Lauren's room, putting away all the shower gifts. Wow! We are so blessed... Levi walked back there, and while I was admiring another cute outfit, he commented; "I sure hope it is a girl, because if not, someone is going to be awfully dissapointed"... I'll just be upset that our boy will have to wear lots of pink! lol! But surely, two 2-D ultrasounds, and one 3-D wouldn't be wrong! I hope anyways! Well, I ordered a rug from Crate & Barrel, so I am anxious to get that next week, and get it put in. It's PINK, imagine that! It's a complete area rug, 9x12, that will exactly cover her floor. No more blue carpet!

I find myself getting more anxious every day... It's just around the corner, and I feel so unprepared. I am taking her coming home outfit to the embroidery place today. Hopefully it will be done next week, ya know, just in case... Levi decided he wanted 'Daddy's Lil Girl' in hot pink on the front of the camoflauge onsie, and a deer head on the toes of each of her camoflauge booties. Of course I am happy to oblige, it's his one thing he really got a say in!

Shower pictures #3

Here are a few more of my favorites from the shower... The first one is Levi and his attempt to pin the diaper on the baby. Everyone had some good laughs at him.

Aunt Carolyn also had a lot of fun going through our things with us. I can't tell you all how much it meant for everyone to be there with us. And I am so proud of Levi for being there by my side, and being a good sport with the game. Valarie captured a lot of shots of Levi and the gift opening... It's a rare site. Thanks Valarie!

Terra got her pictures put on a cd the other day, so the next time I see her, hopefully I'll have some more from her.















There's not much else to report here. Just waiting for the weekend. I plan to go through and organize all the gifts we received, and try to pack our hospital bags. I bought some baby detergent, so I know I need to wash the newborn and 0-3 months stuff and put it away. I will post some pics tomorrow of our trip to the Oil Museum. And maybe this weekend, I can get some updated pictures of the nursery. Have a great Thursday everyone!

More shower pics...

I wanted to start this morning off posting my 34 week picture Levi took this. I also wanted to say, I will be having professional shots done on August 18th. I have already made plans to buy the cd and post them on my actual photography website. It will be secure and password protected. Once I do that everyone can have access to look, and let me know what pictures they would like, and I will place orders.

I can't tell everyone enough thank you's for all that ya'll did this past weekend. It sure makes a girl feel loved, and I know Levi really appreciated it too. I think it's becoming all that more real to us both, and we are getting ancy! I will be calling some of you to get your addresses since I didn't before we left to send out thank you cards. I can't wait to get in Lauren's room and play with all the gifts and start putting them away.

First shower pics...

We made it home last night around 8:30. And I was absolutely beat. We stopped at Ft. Worth and walked around Cabela's for a couple of hours. I bought the cutest camoflauge onsie and some booties to go with it. We think we might have it embroided and use it as her going home outfit. I also bought a onsie for when she is older that has the cutest horse on it, and a horse stuffy to go with it.

We had a wonderful time! The shower was so awesome! We can't thank everyone enough for all their gifts and 'belly' loves!

For all the practicing Aunt Carolyn
had us do earlier, did me no good.
And we didn't even give Levi a
chance to practice, and he 'beat' me...
He only beat me because he got the
diaper on, pinned with one pin, but
pinned none the less!
