My poor car... my sweet babe

"... soo how much did it tear up my 'paid-for' car?"

That's what I heard when I called hubby to inform him that I was in a a minor fender-bender.

It could have been prevented. Some lady just stopped in a three lane, merging into a two lane. And even worse, had the person behind me not been able to run into the blocked off lane and avoided hitting me it could have been very bad.

The road was wet with the rain still coming down. I locked the brakes.

I could have been in the hospital right now. So could Grandma.

I feel blessed.

bB the way, I didn't sleep much. I'm still tore up about it. But I'm so thankful we have good insurance.

Moving on to happier subjects.

The other day, Laure and I spent some time out in the front yard playing... She is going through stage where 'bear' has become more than just a comfort toy. She pretends with him, and involves him now. If she brushes her teeth, she brushes his teeth. He eats with her. He plays in the water sprinkler with her...

He takes wagon rides with her.

Sometimes she takes a break from bear and goes for a slide or a walk around.

Then he drives her car. Sometimes he gets help with steering too.

Then he goes for a ride with Lauren while mommy pulls.

And then to catch a smile like this... it makes the world so much better.

A fun Saturday

We decided to spend some much needed time with 'daddy' on Saturday. Here lately, we all have been coming and going and just barely seeing eachother...

First we went down to the barn and played with the critters. I love that Levi's big 'ol greyhound dogs love Lauren. They are always so happy to see her toddling down towards them. Really they are happy to see anyone, but I like knowing that all they want to do is lick her hands.

After running around for a while, and I do mean running... that girl runs everywhere she goes... no walking with her... just pure running. We took a ride in the truck around the pasture to check fences.

As we were pulling out, we caught Festus trying to sneak out of the gates. Of course he couldn't get out, and he knew he was caught.

After we pulled out of the gates, we stoped in front of the barn, and festus came around to the front to meet us. Lauren had some Teddy Grahams she decided to share with the mule.

And you know what??? He loved them! He ate as many as she would stick through the fence. And of course the just thought his little fuzzy lips was too funny! Everytime the grazed her fingers she would giggle.

After that we went to the lumber yard to return a few things and see "pappy". As soon as I got her out of the truck, she headed for the fork lift. Right up into the seat she went. Pappy came over and started it and honked the horn. She just love it all!

But all things come to an end when a certain little toddler gets very sleepy. So home we went.

We're back...

I'm sorry if you have missed us posting... Life can be so crazy and busy at times!

I'll try to update from the last couple of weeks:

Today, we went to the annual Mangum Rattle Snake Derby.... yes, there are really rattle snakes there. It's a huge vendor and fairway set around the captured snakes. The kids had a ton of fun!

The Rattle Snake derby is a big 'family' thing for us. In fact we missed last year for the first time out of the past 7 years. Hunter was devastated, and if I remember correctly (and I do) I was doubled over with a gallbladder attack. So we missed it.

But the year before, when I was 4 months pregnant with our little princess, I was able to twist Levi's arm to take one of those cool 'old time' photos with me. Hunter was ready to do it...

Today, we closed the chapter with a reunion photo with our new addition...

I'm glad we did it, and I promised Levi that he wouldn't have to do it again for another two years... However since I didn't get the caricature picture I wanted, that may be on the list for next year.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The other day, Lauren played in the water sprinkler at grandma and grandpa's house. She had so much fun 'washing' things, and sharing a drink with bear.

We see grandma and grandpa on a almost daily basis. Since daycare is just up the street, we stop by before traveling the three blocks to our house. When we were backing out of their drive, I was able to catch Lauren waving by to them. I just love this picture...

It's late, and I'm tired. So I'm gonna get in bed, and I'll try to be back and post an update with more, including Easter tomorrow or Monday.

my future shutterbug!!!

Well, it's almost time for another work week. I think I am almost ready. Today we did some shopping and bought our Easter stuff. I bought Lauren's Easter dress, I'll try to get some pictures soon... Then we went to Terra's house to see miss "M" and visit for a while.

While we were there, Terra asked me to help her with her camera. So we spent about an half hour or so playing and taking pictures of the kids. When I was letting her shoot with my camera, Lauren picked up her camera, and I got this:

(Notice her finger is on the shutter button??? That's a sure sign that I take waaaay too many pictures, and she watches everything I do!)

Now here she is reviewing her pictures. Making sure all is well..... yep! Looks great!

I took this of miss "M" looking at Lauren... I tried to get Lauren to kiss her, but it wasn't happening.

Just a natural light photo.... man I love my 2.8 lens.

Lauren was very intently staring at the TV.

Looking at me...

.... oooo, back to the TV.

Other than that, I have been super busy with shoots and processing. I plan to share some pictures here tomorrow, or if you are super bored, you can see them here.

It's back to work for me tomorrow. yay.

I wish I could just make a living processing pictures on my computer. I'd marry my computer if I could!

Oh yeah, before I go, I have to share this:

don't ask.

April Fools to MEEEE!!!!!

I only wish this was a joke!

If you live in the state of Oklahoma... DO NOT, and I repeat, do not let your driver's license expire. Not even by one day!!!

I'm not sure how other states are, but here is why you don't want to in Oklahoma:

  • You have to have your birth certificate or passport.

  • This is a problem for me, because I have neither.

  • Because I was born in Texas, I cannot get my birth certificate without a vaild driver's license.

  • So in order to obtain my birth certificate, I have to make a copy of my husband's drivers license and send with my $23 money order to the Texas county clerks office.

  • In which it will be 2-4 weeks to be processed.

  • Now if I were able to obtain my birth certificate from Austin, I wouldn't have to go through the next rigamore:

  • Because my birth certificate will come from the county clerks office, upon receiving it, I have to take it to my local examiner's office, which is 45 mintues away.

  • Then they will issue me a form that I can then take to my local tag office which is only 10 minutes away, and finally obtain my new license.

  • I hope

So in the meantime, yes, I will be driving around with an expired license.

Lord, please have mercy on me.

While I should have been renewing my license last night, I was busy having my pictures taken.

I'd like to share some with you.

I know they aren't top quality, but I love them so much!!!! Especially the last one!
